About Us | Our History

Cambridge, Inc. was founded in 1915 as Cambridge Wire Cloth Company, a weaver of industrial wire cloth. In the 1920's Cambridge pioneered the development of metal mesh conveyor belting to meet the needs of U.S. industry in processing applications.

Over the years, Cambridge has developed and patented numerous belt designs and continues to emphasize research and development as well as applications technology in order to serve market requirements. Cambridge belting products serve a wide range of industries, including food and beverage processing, glass and ceramics, and metalworking. Since 1991, Cambridge's patented DiaCrimp® construction for balanced weave mesh belts has offered the market superior performance in demanding process applications such as glass annealing and decorating, baking ovens, and high temperature metalworking applications, as well as improved operation at ambient temperature. Cambridge entered the spiral conveyor belt market in the early 1980's with the introduction of Cambri-Link® and Cam-Grid® belts, and has since developed a broad range of belts and accessories for this important market.
